Maternity FAQ's

When is the best time to schedule my session?

The best time is at 32-34 weeks of gestation. This is before you get too uncomfortable and the chances are lower that you will go into labor this early. Your bump is the perfect size to photograph at about 33 weeks. Booking is best ahead of time so timing is perfect for your session. Your partner and children are welcome to attend and be part of the session. There will be 10 photos of just you. You can book one-hour or two-hour sessions. Mini-Sessions will just 7 include digital images.

What should I wear and where can I find outfits?

You will not need to bring any clothing for your baby as I have outfit, I suggest a flowy, pretty dress you are comfortable in and a casual dress or outfit. Typically, you will have to change in your car if there are no public restroom or you can use a portable changing tent for one that I will provide, so layering is helpful. I have a handful of dresses to offer. Feel free to inquire as to colors and sizes. Some of my clients have had great luck on Amazon.com and I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality as well. There are wraps available for your baby. We will discuss colors, textures and styles you like and I will choose some options for him or her. If your baby uses a pacifier for soothing you can bring it along to help settle your baby. Younger children should be accompanied so they can play while you are photographed. A partner or grandparent are best as well as other family member.

If it is winter or really hot, what are my other options?

I have a studio that will be provided and located in Waldo, near the Unity and Belfast areas that we can use. It's recommended that you schedule your sessions ahead of time for availability. I always suggest an outdoor session whenever possible. In my opinion, you get more variety, however an indoor session with some gorgeous gowns is beautiful too. Also, if you have other children they are happier outdoors where they can run and play.

What if I go into labor early and miss my session?

By scheduling your session at 32-34 weeks, we can hopefully avoid missing your session, however babies can be unpredictable! I would apply your retainer toward a future session like a Newborn, Milestone, Cake Smash or Mommy & Me sessions.

How long will I have to download my images?

When you come to your session I have you sign a Print Release that has a one-year retention policy. That means you have up to a year to download your images and get them on a hard drive or thumb drive that you own. The images will always be in the gallery and if you lose your link or email I am happy to resend it to you. If you choose a sneak peek, it will be posted on social media within 7 days. Your final images will be delivered in an online gallery by your email that you can download, order prints and share on social media. You can add family members to the gallery by their email and they can also order prints in the gallery and download all images. You will be provided an app that you can add to your phone of your digital images 15 (limited), the best color digital images will be chosen.
