ARE YOU PLANNING A SMALL WEDDING FOR 4 HOURS OR MORE?
WELL, THAT'S SUPER EXCITING!
LET'S GET IN A CHAT ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW!
We're going to do things a bit differently!
LET'S CAPTURE THE REAL STUFF
We're not here to create pixel perfect images
We're here to capture the authentic moments
You say you don’t like posed shots?
Wedding posing brings with it unique opportunities for posing and Guided Activity with you, the wedding party, and your family and guests.
Nobody wants boring wedding photos, after all.
There will always be a few posed shots, but no need to worry. I keep these poses natural to you and your abilities and I even demonstrate them for you!
We’ll get creative until we find just the right angle to make you look and feel confident and amazing every time you look back at the shot.
Much of my posing is considered Guided Activity.
During Guided Activity you will be given an activity to perform instead of standing still for a pose.
They are always super easy, and completely customizable to your comfort and ability.
How fun is that?

SOME OF OUR OTHER TIPS
The picture times can always be spaced apart due to locations and travel times!
It's also advised that you consider time of the day and lighting if
there is a certain look you are trying to achieve with the sun.
If possible, it is best to AVOID 12 noon-1:30pm for outdoor portraits in
warmer months because we want to try and prevent sweaty and squinty faces!
Lastly, remember to walk slowly and look up with
lots of smiles for those photos to come out great!
I'd love to hear what you are cooking up for your elopement or wedding
which venue you are thinking of?
These are a few wonderful option
WEDDING DETAILED FORM
PLANNING YOUR DAY
How much time should we plan for detail pictures?
GETING READY AND DETAILS
We typicall recomend 3 hours in total for pictures, this also depends which wedding package you choose.
Certainly no less and 1.5 hours, for getting ready and detail pictures.
Detail pictures include your bouque, dress, rings, shoes, guest souvenirs, lighting, decorations, ect. There can be a lot of little things for us to capture, and it often takes about 35 minutes to gather all items and capturing all details. The rest of the time , we will be covering each of you getting ready with your family and friends!
FAMILY PICTURES
Each family grouping can take up to 3-5 minutes, dependidng on the size of the group, therefore, to save time, we recomend you limit family groupings to the extent possible. If there are other individuals or groups with whom you'd like pictures then we can do so at the reception.
In total, it can be helpful to budget roughly 30 minutes for family pictures.
BRIDAL PARTY PICTURES
For a fun and memorable assorment of bridal party photographs, we recommend reserving at least 45 minutes.
During this time, we will be photographing the whole group and individual groupings.
COUPLE PICTURES IMMEDIATELY AFTER CEREMONY
If the ceremony and reception are at the same location, then the 45 minutes is typically sufficient for the two of you. However, if we need to travel to an alternate location, then factor that into your schedule and package. Of course, the more time you allow for your pictures, the more creative we can be!
We recommend a "first look" as a way to get some great photos without keeping your guests waiting.
COUPLE PICTURES LATER IN THE DAY
At some point during the reception, we'd like to take you out for additional formal pictures. We usually do this when you need a break from the party and light is soft and perty. Expect to spend an additional 45 minutes. These are typically some of the nicest formals from the entire day, because the light is best.
What should i look for in a getting ready location?
Choose a well-lit (preferably natural light), spacious location to get ready in and make sure it is kept clean. You don't want those old sneakers sitting in the corner to make their way into your pictures.
Do you have any hair and makeup suggestions?
Invest in a great makeup artist and hair stylist. It's invalluable to find someone who can bring out your natural beauty without going overboard. Well done makeup can also withstand a number of enviormental factors including sweat. Consult with your hair stylist to determine the best style for your hair type and your ceremoy location. For example, if you're getting married on the ocean, perhaps you'll want your hair up to minimize the chances of it blowing in your face. If you'd like referrals, just let us know.
What is the "First look" and do you recommend one?
The "First Look" is when you see each other BEFORE the ceremony. It's usaully done after you've both gotten ready. It's a time to truly relax with one another and spend a little moment together before the bustle begins. Though admittedly not for everyone, we recommend having a "First Look". It's a great way to capture a very real candid moment when you see each other for the first time. It's also a way to get intimate, unhurried portraits without keeping guests waiting.
In addition to these great benefits, a first look can make your schedule more efficiant. Many couples do formals with the bridal party and immidiate family after their "First Look", so that those individuals won't have to stick around after the ceremony. A "First Look" often leaves you with more time between the ceremony and reception to socialize with your guests and get a quick refresher.
How can I make sure i look good in my pictures?
The biggest advice we can provide is to relax and enjoy yourself! How you're feeling on the inside really does show on the outside. The next thing we'd say is to trust our advice and discreation. We're pretty good at noticing when people are getting tired or slowing down, and we will keep pace with you accordingly.
A big source of stress and anxiety, which eventually shows up on your face, is keeping things on schedule. Therefore, give yourself breathing room throughout the day and pay attention to our timeline recommendations. The less rushed you feel, the easier it will be for you to relax and enjoy the moment.
Finally, get plenty of sleep the night before. Take it easy at the rehearsal dinner/ or bachellorette/bachlor parties. It's no fun nursing a wedding day hangover and be sure to keep yourself hydrated throughout your wedding day. Dehydration can lead to headaches and exhaustion.
What time of day is best for outdoor pictures?
We can accommodate any time of day for your wedding, but usually 4 hours or less before sunset in the ideal time for outdoor portraits. That's because there's still adequate lighting, but shadows and harsh angles are reduced. We recommend you keep this in mind when schedulling your ceremony, so that you have a greater likelyhood of good lighting for formals. Believe it or not, a cloudy day can lead to fantastic outdoor portraits, while a sunny day at high noon can cause bothersome shadowing and blinded subjects.
What if we plan to get married in church?
Church weddings are beautiful, but some churches are difficult to photograph due to size and the lighting that is available. Lighting tends to be inadequate, flash is typically discouradged or prohibited, and photographers are sometimes not allowed to get close to the alter. We ask that you speak with your priest or pastor in advance so we may be respectful of any restrictions they might have. That said, church ceremonies are perfectly doable: We just need to know what to expect ahead of time, as each church is different.
If your ceremony will be in a church, then we might need to travel to a different location afterward to capture formals for you and your bridal party. If this is the case, then the extra time will have to be worked out in your schedule and a portrait location will have to be determined.
The package you choose should include these types of travel times., so choose the best package that fits and includes this as per how many hours we are to cover your wedding. Alternatively, you may choose to have your portraits taken as part of a "First Look"
Should our wedding guest go unplugged?
We understand that guests are excited for you and they want to capture the moment too.
However, we respectully recommend that guests be instructed in advance when it is, and isn't appropricate for them to take pictures.
You've hired professional photographers for a reason. In order for us to do our best work, we need your attention on us. Guest photography during the ceremony and during and formal sessions can distract you, block our shots and improperly affect lighting.
Though it's hard to have a completly unplugged wedding , it is possible to have an unplugged ceremony, and we recommend it.
One way to accomplish this is to have your priest or officiante make an announcement at the beggining of the ceremony asking that everyone take a moment to turn off their devices. This way, there's less likelyhood that a guest will jump in front of us or block our view with an iPad or Cell Phone.
You will receive digital copies of the photos we take, which you can share with any and all friends and family. So, guests really don't need to try duplicating our work. You can also have the priest, pastor and officiant also mention this briefly before the ceremony starts. We will provide our information so your guests can find our website and find your online gallery.
ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS!
Are Engagement photos included?
A complimentary Engagement Session is included as a way for us to get to know each other and for you both to become comfortable in front of my camera. I consider it more of a dress rehearsal for your wedding day. You won’t have to overthink about what you should do and can enjoy the whole experience!
Should I have a second photographer?
A second photographer captures more of your family and guests' reactions at the ceremony and reception and different angles of every part of your wedding day. Often the second photographer will photograph the guys getting ready along with the groom’s reaction to seeing the bride for the first time. It is helpful and will tell the story of your wedding day.
What is a “First Look” and should I have one?
Vix ut utinam feugait. Eu scribentur liberavisse nec. Dico fugit nostro cu pri, no putent nemore mel, ius at minim molestiae.
